My name is Travis Smardo, and I founded SEK Modern Pedorthics with the goal of combining evidence-based foot care, clinical experience, and modern manufacturing technology to create high-quality custom orthotic solutions. For the past seven years, I have worked in a clinical setting at Wilde Foot and Ankle Clinic, where I have gained extensive experience evaluating patients, designing orthotic interventions, and working alongside healthcare professionals to help address a wide range of lower extremity conditions. Throughout my career, I have focused on understanding the relationship between foot biomechanics, patient comfort, and long-term clinical outcomes. My formal training includes education through the Midwest School of Modern Pedorthics, where I developed a strong foundation in foot anatomy, biomechanics, orthotic therapy, and pedorthic care. I am also pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business through Maestro College with a minor in Artificial Intelligence Technology. This combination of healthcare and technology education continues to shape my approach to innovation within the orthotic industry. What led me to establish SEK Modern Pedorthics was a belief that modern technology can improve the way custom orthotics are designed and manufactured. By integrating digital scanning, computer-aided design, and advanced 3D printing technologies, I have worked to develop a process that emphasizes precision, repeatability, and customization while maintaining a strong patient-centered focus.

I am proud to call Southeast Kansas home. Having grown up in Southeast Kansas and Southwest Missouri, I understand the values that define our communities: hard work, integrity, personal relationships, and a commitment to helping others. Those values continue to guide how I approach both my personal life and professional practice. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors and appreciate the active lifestyles that many people throughout our region enjoy. Whether it's time spent exploring local trails, enjoying the outdoors with family and friends, or simply appreciating the natural beauty of our area, I understand the importance of staying active and maintaining mobility throughout life.
